From time to time, everyone feels overwhelmed by their emotions and their life situations. It is a difficult, time- and energy-consuming process to sort through those feelings, but the journey is so worth it. It would be my honor to walk with you in navigating hard feelings and situations.
What I offer you
Empathy
I will seek to understand you and meet you with empathy and understanding. There is no need to apologize for your condition or to put on your best fake smile. Your brokenness is welcomed here, and with the power of the Holy Spirit, it is redeemed here.
Safety
It takes a lot of courage to open up to a stranger. I want to do everything I can to make the counseling room a safe, welcoming, non-judgmental place for you.
Strategy
Having a map is useful when you’re trying to get somewhere you’ve never been. I want to listen to your goals and help you “map out” how to get where you want to go.
Perspective/Clarity
Sometimes an unbiased outsider’s perspective can help us better understand our situation and what our next steps should be. I would love to provide that outsider perspective for you.
Hope
When we are in the middle of difficult situations, it can be hard to have hope for the future. I believe that our hope is anchored in Christ, but sometimes it is hard to hold onto that truth for ourselves. I would like to use Scripture and Biblical values to provide hope in distressing situations.
About Me
I graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health. I have a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Shorter University. I am passionate about helping individuals better understand God and His love for them, and in turn better understanding themselves. I am originally from Columbus, GA and moved to New Orleans to pursue my Masters degree. In my free time, you can find me with friends or family, hosting game night, or enjoying the sunshine.
